2.4 What is call2roots’ rate for placing calls from a wireless phone?

2.5 When I signup or recharge, will I be charged any taxes?

Our Prepaid service is designed to meet all the needs of customers who prefer to buy calling cards. However, ours is a far superior service to those offered by calling card providers as we have superior voice quality and have no hidden charges i.e. no connection charges, no monthly charges, no account maintenance fees etc.
5.1 How do I sign-up for call2roots?
You can sign up for call2roots by visiting our website at www.call2roots.com and click on 'Sign-up'. During signup, you will be required to select a calling plan ($5 plan, $10 plan etc.), register up to 3 phone numbers, and provide an email address and other personal information. Finally, you will be required to provide us with the necessary payment details for your account including a valid Master Card or VISA. Once you have successfully signed up, your account will be created and the account details would be sent to your email ID, given by you at the time of signing up.
5.2 How long does it take to activate my call2roots account?
Your account details are sent to your email ID registered with us at the time you sign up for the service. Please note that you may start using the service as soon as you receive the account details in your email ID.
5.3 Why should I register my phone numbers with the service?
When you register a phone number with call2roots, you no longer need to enter Your Account ID to access our service from that phone number. In a few cases where your local exchange carrier does not provide us with the Caller Line Identification (CLI) you may be asked to enter your Account ID even when dialing from a registered phone number. You must make sure that the caller ID number (Calling Line Identity or A-Number Identity) is activated on the phone line that you register with us. It is recommended that only a secure phone line is registered - that is, a number that is not publicly shared. You CANNOT register payphone numbers, nor can you register a number that is on a local PBX. You should also avoid registering shared phones such as a common dormitory phone or other shared phones. You CAN register your home phone, your cellular phone, as well as an office phone as long as it is a private line.
5.4 What if I have more than one phone in my house?
You can register up to 5 registered phones for the service. However you can always use call2roots from any other phone using your Account ID.
5.5 What if I do not have access to a secure phone line?
If you do not have access to a secure phone line, when signing up, you may choose not to register any phone number. However, you can add one later by accessing My Account section on www.call2roots.
5.6 Why can't I register a number that is on a PBX?
Many offices use a PBX for making and receiving phone calls. You will know that you are on a PBX generally when you have to dial a number (ex. 9) to get an outside line. These types of systems generally use different phone numbers to make outgoing calls. Therefore, when a customer makes a call from a PBX number, call2roots is unable to identify that user and you will be required to enter your Account ID followed by your 4 digits PIN.
5.7 Can I register a Hotel or a Hostel Number?
Please do not register a hotel or a hostel number for your account security. To prevent misuse of your account (by anyone else using the phone line) please use your Account ID and 4 digits PIN for dialing.
5.8 What are the benefits of signing up for call2roots service online?
Signing up with call2roots online enables you to manage your account easily. Your personal details remain confidential in our highly secure system. You also have the convenience to view call or recharge details, manage password and payment receipts at a click of a button.
5.9 Are there any commitments? Do I have to sign up for a certain period of time or can I cancel my service at any time? Are there any activation or disconnection fees?
Call2roots does not force you into any time commitment since we are confident of the value and quality of our service. There is no cancellation fee associated with our service, however if you choose to cancel the service you will forgo any balance in your prepaid account and there will be no refund of money from call2roots.
5.10 Can I change my website user id & my website password?
Your website Account ID is unique and hence it cannot be changed. However, you can change your website password by logging into your account.
6.1 How do I use call2roots?
After you have successfully signed up, you can start using call2roots services as soon as you get your Account details in your email ID. Please note that we will be mailing the account details to the email ID given to us during registration.
When using one of your registered phone numbers to make a call, simply dial our toll-free access number and enter the destination number you would like to reach. In a few cases where your local exchange carrier does not provide us with the Caller Line Identification you may be asked to enter your Account ID even when dialing from a registered phone number. You must ensure that the caller ID number (Calling Line Identity or A-Number Identity) is activated on the phone line that you register.
6.2 How do I dial the number I want to reach in India?
Once you have dialled our Toll Free Access Number , you will be prompted to enter the destination number (assuming the call is made from a registered phone number and PIN is disabled by the customer) you would like to reach, starting with country code eg, 00913325005716 for a Kolkata phone number.
When you are trying to reach a number in India from United States of America, there are three components to the number that you must dial i.e. country code, STD code, and phone number. The country code for India is 0091. The STD code depends on the city or town you are calling. For example, the STD code for Mumbai is 22, New Delhi is 11, and Chennai is 44. Finally, you must enter the phone number of the individual you are trying to reach. For example, to reach a Kolkata number such as 25005716 you would dial '0091-33-25005716'.
When using any other phone to access the service, you dial our toll-free access number , you will then be prompted to enter Account ID and your PIN. After you enter these digits and the system has identified you as a call2roots customer, you will be prompted to enter the number you would like to reach.
6.3 How do I place a call (through registered Phone number)?

Note, if you use a cellular phone to dial one of our access numbers, we are not responsible for any additional charges your cellular service provider may levy on your account for using the service on your cellular phone.
7.2 How do I use call2roots from my wireless / cellular phone?
Dial the Toll-Free Access number, enter your Account ID and 4 digit PIN along with the destination number you wish to call after the prompt. In fact, you can even register your cellular phone with call2roots and skip entering the Account ID altogether while making calls from your cellular phone.
8.1 How do I log into My Account?
Go to our website www.call2roots.com. Click on My Account tab and enter your User ID & website password. Your user ID and website password are emailed to you at the end of successful registration to call2roots service.
8.2 Can I manage my account online?
All call2roots customers have the access to our online account management tool. This tool is accessed by logging into My Account on www.call2roots.com. This customized tool allows you to maintain your account details, see your call details and recharge your account.
8.3 How do I change my registered phone number(s)?
You can change any of the registered phone numbers through the web or by calling customer service center. To make the changes through the website log onto 'My Account' section of the website and click the 'Account Profile' option or call our customer service center for assistance.
8.4 How do I change my billing address?

9.1 "I know my Account ID but have forgotten my PIN." What should I do?
If you know your Account ID, but have forgotten your PIN, go to My Account section > change password page. Then disable PIN and re-enable with new password.
9.2 How do I change my PIN?

9.3 "Someone has stolen my Password" What should I do?
If you suspect that someone else has unauthorized access to your account, you will need to change your Passwords immediately. Please log on to your 'My Account' at our website www.call2roots.com or call Customer Service Center. Please protect the privacy of your account at all times and do not share your Password with anyone else.
10.1 What are the different payment options available?
We are currently offering only Prepaid option and accept payments only through Master Card or VISA.
10.2 What kind of payment do you accept?
You can pay for the Calling Value Plan through the Master Card or VISA only.
10.3 Why was my Master Card or VISA declined?
There can be multiple reasons why your Master Card or VISA might have been declined:
- There may have been a Master Card or VISA processor or server error. Due to the high volume of people trying to sign up and make payments, occasionally our system cannot handle the traffic, resulting in a declined transaction.
- Please make sure that expiry date on the Master Card or VISA matches the date which you have keyed in.
- Please make sure that the billing address of the Master Card or VISA matches the address mentioned in your account.
Failure to exactly match any of the above mentioned information will result in a declined transaction. Please contact your bank to make sure there is no issue with your card or credit limit available.
11.1 What are the different Recharge options available?
You can select a sign-up amount which is the initial Calling Value / Account Balance ($5, $10, $20, $25, $50, &75, $100). Every time a call is made, the call charges are deducted from this balance. You may top up your Account balance at any time by accessing our website www.call2roots.com.
11.2 Other operators do not charge tax on the recharge amount then why is call2roots charging?
Other operators deduct the value of the tax from the talk time you get on the card. We give you full talk time on your chosen calling plan and charge tax over & above the calling plan. This transparent process helps you to know the talk time available.
11.3 How is the usage calculated?
Charges for the telephone calls are measured in whole minutes. All calls, which are fractions of a minute, are rounded up to the next whole minute (e.g. a call which lasts 1 minute 45 seconds will be charged as a 2 minute call). Timing on calls begins when the called party answers the call. Timing on calls ends when the calling party hangs up or call2roots network receives an "on-hook" signal from the terminating carrier - which is when the called party hangs up.
11.4 Will I be charged for calls that are not connected?
You will not be charged for non-connected calls. In the unlikely event that you are ever charged for non-connected calls we will be more than happy to refund you the amount. However if you are using any payphone for the same, the pay phone surcharge will be charged to your account.
11.5 Will I be charged for busy signals?
You will not be charged for busy signals. In the unlikely event that you are ever charged for non-connected calls we will be more than happy to refund you the amount. However if you are using any payphone for the same, the pay phone surcharge will be charged to your account.
11.6 What kind of Master Card or VISAs do you accept?
At present we accept Master Card and Visa only.
11.7 How do I recharge my prepaid account?
You can recharge your prepaid account online at www.call2roots.com or through the Customer Service Center. To recharge online, please log on to 'My Account' section of the website and click the 'Account Recharge'. Your account can be recharged in denominations of $5, $10, $20, $25, $50, $75 and $100.
11.8 Is there a validity period for the recharge amount?
No, there is no validity period. The prepayments/recharge credited to your Account does not expire as long as your Account remains active. If your Account does expire, we will not be obligated to refund any balance remaining in your Account. See our Expiration Policy in Customer Service Agreement for more details.
11.9 I'm having trouble recharging.
Please make sure that expiry date on the Master Card or VISA matches the date, which you have keyed in. Also please make sure that the billing address of the Master Card or VISA matches the address mentioned in your account. Failure to exactly match this information will result in a declined transaction. Also, please contact your bank to make sure there is no issue with your card.
11.10 What is the CVV verification number?
CVV verification number is for your safety and security. Call2roots requires that you enter your Master Card or VISA's verification number. The verification number is the last 3/4 digits of the number printed on the back of your Master Card or VISA.
12.1 How does call2roots protect my Master Card or VISA information?

13.1 What is pin less dialing?
Our system can recognize up to 5 different phone lines registered on your account. This feature allows you to skip entering your Account ID when placing calls through these 5 registered lines (except in a few cases where your local exchange carrier does not provide us with the Caller Line Identification). You must make sure, however, that the caller ID number (Calling Line Identity or A-Number Identity) is activated on the phone line that you register.
13.2 How can I use PIN less dialing?
If you are calling from a registered phone number, you will not be prompted for an Account ID. This feature helps you to get directly connected to your destination number without dialing the Account ID.
13.3 Can I use PIN less dialing from an un-registered phone number?
No you can only use this facility when dialing from a registered phone number.
13.4 If someone has already registered my phone number for PIN less dialing, can I register that number back from him (Eg: Hostel no.)?
If someone, say your friend, has already registered your phone number for PIN less dialing then you cannot register that number back from him. Please note that a phone number can be registered to one account only at any single point of time. In this case, if you want your phone no. to be registered with your account, then you would have to ask your friend to un-register the phone number from his account.
13.5 The website states PIN less dialing. Does this mean that when I register my phone number(s) for the same my PIN would also get disabled?
No, your PIN will not be disabled. Your four digit PIN is enabled as default settings for additional security on your registered phone number. In case you feel that your registered phone is secure enough, you may choose to disable it for convenient dialing. To disable it, please login to your account and click on Account Profile. By checking on "4 digit PIN", you will be able to disable this feature.
14.1 What is 4-digit PIN Dialing?
By enabling 4-digit PIN dialing, you will be prompted to enter your 4 digit PIN when making a call from either registered or unregistered phone line. This is for your account security.
14.2 How can I enable/ disable 4-Digit Password dialing?
Log on to My Account and click on Account Profile. By checking on "Enable PIN" you will be able to enable this feature.
14.3 Will I be charged for this service?
Presently, we are not charging for this service.
14.4 Can I change my PIN?
Yes, you can change your PIN by login to your account.
Speed dial is a process where you can dial only one digit instead of the entire number including STD code. In simple language, it serves as a shortcut.
15.2 How do I access call2roots from an unregistered phone number?
Procedure to activate speed dial:
- Speed Dial cannot be activated over phone. You would need to Log in to your call2roots account.
- You must activate PINLESS dialing first by ANI addition. Only then can you enjoy speed dialing.
- Now you can find on Speed Dial option.
- You can assign any number from 1 to 9 (NOT zero) to function as a shortcut or speed dial. Therefore, you can activate 9 speed dials at the most from one User Account.
- When you are making the call, follow the voice response. On being asked to dial the number you wish to call, just enter the digit correctly (1 to 9) just as in case of local calls.
- Thereafter press the # key and wait for your call to be connected.
15.3 Can I activate double digit Shortcut/Speed Dial?
No, there can be only a single digit; anything between 1 and 9 excluding 0 (zero).
15.4 I have just registered with call2roots. But in ‘My Account’ page I cannot view anything called ‘Speed Dial’?
You will not be able to view the Speed Dial option unless you have configured ANI for PINLESS dialing. On the top-right corner of the ‘My Account’ page you will find an animated link (Click to configure PINLESS dialing).
16.1 Can I send a fax message?
Yes. Simply dial the access numbers through your fax machine. Once you have connected to the receiving fax machine, start transmitting the fax. Please refer to your FAX machine user guide to set up the facility.
16.2 Will I be charged for sending a FAX?
Yes, you will be charged for the duration of the call, during which your fax gets transmitted.
16.3 Will I be charged a fee for this service?
Presently we are not charging any fees for the service.
17.1 Can I recharge through the IVR?
Currently, you cannot recharge through the IVR/Call Center. However, we will definitely let you know once this feature becomes available.
17.2 Can I make more than one call at a time?
You can make simultaneous calls from your account.
18.1 What is Electronic Payment Receipt?
Electronic Payment Receipt is a receipt of the last transaction (amount paid) made by you. You can Print and save this E-Receipt.
18.2 Where is option for getting Payment Receipt on the Website?
You can get the Payment Receipt by logging into My Account section of the website and click on the Account History option. You will see the Payment Details link there.
18.3 When is E-Receipt generated?
After every successful transaction (amount paid) Electronic Payment Receipt will be generated.
18.4 Can I also get the receipt of my earlier payments?
No. You cannot get the receipt for your earlier payments. The receipt will be available only for the last payment transaction.
19.1 What is Refer a Friend Offer? How can I benefit by referring a friend?
This is an offer for existing users of Call2Roots calling cards. You may refer to any of your friends/relations. Whenever your friend (here ‘friend’ denotes the registered user referred by you) recharges his/her account for the first time, you would benefit as a referrer. Free minutes would be added to your call2roots account. This offer would be applicable for as many users referred by you, but only at the first recharge purchased by each of them. For instance, if one referred friend makes ten recharges, you will get the free minutes only once, that is on his/her first recharge. The amount of top-up you get is determined by the recharge amount and call rate.
19.2 How will I be intimated about the free minutes added to my account? How many minutes do I get?
You shall be informed by an email immediately when your referred user makes his/her first recharge and the free minutes will be added to your existing Call2Roots calling card account. Presently you can get up to 300 minutes free. Please read the terms and conditions for Offers and Lucky Draws carefully. Conditions are subject to change at the discretion of Ipsita Telecom.
